Our Work with Children & Adolescents age 6 to 15List Item 4
There are many reasons why parents seek help for their children. Below we list five common reasons.
1. Early Intervention
Seeking the help of a qualified Child Psychologist can provide early intervention for any issues that may be affecting the child. Addressing problems at a younger age can prevent them from escalating into more serious issues later on.
2. Emotional Support
Child Psychologists are trained to provide emotional support and guidance to children. They can help children develop coping strategies, build resilience, and improve their emotional well-being.
3. Behavioral Improvement
Children aged 6 to 15 may exhibit challenging behaviors due to various factors such as stress, trauma, or developmental issues. A Child Psychologist can work with the child and their family to understand the root cause of these behaviors and develop effective strategies to address them.
4. Improved Communication Therapy can help children learn how to express their feelings and thoughts in a healthy way. Children who struggle with communication may benefit from working with a Child Psychologist to improve their verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
5. Enhanced Problem-Solving Skills
Child Psychologists can teach children how to effectively solve problems and make decisions. By providing a safe space for children to explore and work through challenges, therapy can help children develop important life skills that will benefit them as they grow older.

About Trauma Therapy & EMDR with our TherapistsList Item 3
Trauma can result from various distressing events, such as accidents, abuse, or natural disasters, and it can have a profound impact on an individual's emotional and psychological well-being.
Trauma therapy is a specialized form of therapy designed to help individuals overcome the lasting effects of these traumatic experiences. It involves working with a trained therapist to process and make sense of the traumatic events in a safe and supportive environment.
One commonly used technique in trauma therapy is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is an evidence-based therapy approach that helps individuals reprocess distressing memories to reduce their impact on daily life.
During EMDR sessions, clients focus on a traumatic memory while the therapist guides them through specific eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation. This process helps the brain reprocess the traumatic memory, enabling the individual to integrate it in a healthier way.
EMDR has been shown to be effective in treating a wide range of trauma-related conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression. Clients often report feeling a sense of relief and resolution after undergoing EMDR therapy. EMDR can be a powerful tool for helping individuals heal from past traumas and live more fulfilling lives.
If you or someone you know is struggling with the effects of trauma, consider reaching out to a qualified therapist who specializes in EMDR therapy for support and guidance.

About our CBT Therapy sessionsList Item 2
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a goal-oriented, evidence-based approach that can offer effective relief for a variety of mental health concerns in a relatively short period of time. In just 6 to 8 sessions, CBT can equip clients with practical tools to address their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in a positive and empowering way.
The objectives of CBT therapy are to help individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and learn how to effectively manage their emotions. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, CBT aids clients in breaking unhelpful cycles and fostering more adaptive ways of thinking and responding to life's challenges.
One of the key strengths of CBT is its structured and collaborative approach. Our therapists work closely with clients to set specific, achievable goals and tailor interventions to suit their individual needs. Through guided exercises, role-playing, and homework assignments, clients learn valuable skills to apply outside of therapy sessions, promoting lasting change and growth.
Overall, CBT offers a hopeful and pragmatic pathway towards improved mental well-being, equipping clients with a toolkit they can carry with them long after therapy has ended.
